분쇄실 내부에는 핀이 2∼3열의 방사상으로 취부되어져 있는회전 로타 및 카바에 취부되어 있는 고정핀이 서로 교차하면서 회전하여 충격 및 전단이 이루어지면서 원심력 또는 풍력에 의해 스크린에서 정립되어 배출 시킨다.
분쇄 범위가 대단히 넓고 스크린의 선택에 의해 조분쇄 및 미분쇄, 해쇄등 광범위한 분입체의 처리가 가능하다.
충격력 및 전단력에 의한 분쇄로 섬유질의 제품도 분쇄가 가능하다. 구조가 간단하여 스크린 교체 및 청소, 보수등은 정면 카바만 열면 가능하다.
