혼합조 중 수평의 리본 날개를 회전시키는 Type의 혼합기를 일반적으로 리본형 혼합기라 일컫는다. 

분체의 이동방향이 다른 2개의 리본이 교차하고 한쪽의 피치는 크고 통상 내측에 있는 리본의 피치를 작게하여 동회전을 보면서 복잡한 흐름과 리본에 의하여 상반되는 상하운동에 따라 페스트상의 것이 혼합기에서는 타종류에서 볼 수 없을 정도로 좋은 혼합 결과가 얻어진다. 

혼합 물성에 따라 액상을 첨가할 경우 스프레이를 겸할 수 있으며 한번의 혼합에 요하는 시간은 보통 5∼20분이다. 

- 종류 : 일반 혼합용, 혼합 및 건조용, 혼합 및 액 첨가용 등이 있다.
